Zuccarelli’s: Home to “Ze-Licious” Italian-American Cuisine, Where Everything is Made From Scratch, The Best Family-Style New York Italian in West Palm Beach, Florida

Olimpia Zuccarelli grew up in the restaurant business. Her parents Frances and Ralph Zuccarelli opened Zuccarelli’s Italian Kitchen 3 decades ago with old family recipes brought with them when they emigrated from Italy. To this day that tradition is kept alive in the kitchen. Everything is made fresh, from scratch, with love.

Olimpia is on a first name basis with most of the locals who have been enjoying the traditional Italian flavors and friendly atmosphere for many years. Customers travel from near and far making Zuccarelli’s their favorite dining destination, whether it be for pizza, pasta, homemade sausage, mozzarella, cannoli, seafood, etc. They have become old friends and part of their extended families. Zuccarelli’s is a place to bring visitors from out of town to introduce them to a taste of authentic Italian food in South Florida.

When Bronxville, NY native, restaurant owner, and published author Olimpia Zuccarelli reflects over her three decades in the restaurant business, her mind instinctively drifts to her mother.

“[She] taught me everything I know, and is my reason for writing this book,” reads the first sentence of A Chair at My Table, Zuccarelli’s newly released autobiographical cookbook.

Published by Advantage Media Group, A Chair at My Table is Zuccarelli’s account of being the daughter to Frances and Ralph Zuccarrelli—the founders of Zuccarelli’s Italian Kitchen in West Palm Beach, FL—a restaurant Olimpia inherited.

“It was a lot of hard work,” said Zuccarelli about writing the book—a two-year-long endeavor—while also running the family restaurant. “I usually made time in the morning before going to work.”

Before moving to Florida when she was nine, Zuccarelli helped at her family’s Mount Vernon deli, and prides herself on sticking with the restaurant business ever since. Zuccarelli hopes her 24-year-old son, Michael, will also join the family business. “I would like to continue the legacy,” she said.

Zuccarelli hopes sharing her family’s traditional Italian recipes will inspire other women to realize that working, writing, and being a single mother all at the same time is possible.

“I’ve always worked side-by-side with my mom,” she said. “I want to inspire single women to feel like it is okay to be in business.”
