Lucca Trattoria, overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway at the private Boca Raton Resort & Club (a Waldorf Astoria property), combining excellent, authentic “rustic” Tuscan and regional Italian with modern Mediterranean cuisine in a dramatic, beautiful, family-friendly atmosphere with an open kitchen and hand-blown Murano chandeliers is a Fred Bollaci Enterprises Golden Palate Partner™ as is the entire resort, with a recipe in Fred’s upcoming gourmet weight loss & lifestyle book!
Favorite starters include a selection of up to five “small plates” perfect for sharing, including: Watermelon, Ricotta Salata, Lime, and Mint, Roasted Peppers with Basil, and Olive Oil, Marinated White Beans, Citrus Marinated Olives, and Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Saba and Pancetta (pictured below). The menu changes with the seasons, always offering guests something delicious and memorable. The Caprese Salad with Burrata, local Heirloom Tomatoes, oven-cured tomato, Balsamic, and Fettunta is delicious as well as the Whipped Ricotta Dolce with Local Honey Comb, Sea Salt, evoo, and grilled ciabatta, the succulent Prosciutto San Danielle served with black cherry, pistachio, aged goat cheese, basil, and black pepper grissini, the Calabrian Chicken Meatballs, Wood Roasted Clams, Eggplant Rollatini, and Pizzetta with Roasted Summer Peaches, smoked Speck, Coach Farms Goat Cheese, basil, and Saba.
Pasta choices include Gluten free, whole wheat and vegan/vegetarian pastas. On a recent visit to Lucca Trattoria my favorites include: Sardinian Couscous Risotto with Summer Zucchini & Blossoms, Pesto, Goat Cheese, and Pine Nuts, “Lamb Sugo” with Hand-Rolled Pasta Rags, Artichoke, Mint, English Peas, and Locatelli, Lobster Scampi with Marinated Cherry Tomatoes, Lemon, Basil, and Linguine, Penne Bolognese with a Veal, Beef, Pork Ragu, Tomato, and Pecorino Toscano, Rigatoni with Meatballs Ricotta, and “Sunday Gravy.”
Entree Grilled Yellowfin Tuna with sweet corn & leek fonduta, oven cured tomato, and Salmoriglio, Organic Brick Pressed Chicken with guanciale, corona beans, baby turnips, radishes, and ramps, Slow Cooked Lamb Shank with beans, beets, greens, and orange gremolata, Creekstone Farms Black Angus NY Strip, Scallops Piccata with capers, citrus, golden raisins, caramelized spaghetti squash, and lemon sage brown butter.
Enjoy a glass or bottle from Lucca’s excellent wine list, featuring a number of great choices by the glass, and an extensive selection of Italian wines, or a cocktail: two perfect choices we had on a visit this summer were: the Summer White Sangria with Italian white wine, Peach Schnapps, and fresh fruit, and the Venetian Spritz with Aperol, St. Germain, and Prosecco. I often like to stop for an aperitivo at the beautiful adjacent Bar Luna, which feels like an elegant bar in Florence or New York City before heading in to dine at Lucca.
Lucca features a beautiful private dining room with large, oblong table resembling a Tuscan farmhouse, and also boasts large windows looking out over Lake Boca, the Intracoastal, and dock (and large yachts).
