Recipe: Spicy Tuna Tartare from Golden Palate® 50 Ocean in Delray Beach, FL


50 Ocean’s Spicy Tuna Tartare


¼ cup diced avocado

4 slices pickled ginger, chopped


1/2 teaspoon black sesame seeds, plus more for garnish

1 1/2 tablespoons white soy sauce with chilies

2 tablespoons mirin

1 tablespoon sambal, or more to taste

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 ounces grade 1 tuna, diced

¼ cup diced, ripe mango

Kosher salt, to taste

Crispy fried wontons, optional, for serving (*omit for dietary/weight loss purposes)

1 Using a small bowl, combine avocado, ginger and sesame seeds.

2 Using a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, sambal and sesame oil. Toss tuna with Chile white soy vinaigrette.

3 Sprinkle mango with salt, to taste.

4 To serve, layer avocado, tuna, and top with mango in jar or glass. Sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Serve immediately or refrigerate until needed.
