Trattoria Diane: Roman-Inspired Cuisine in Historic Roslyn, Long Island, NY

Trattoria Diane is owned by veteran restaurateurs, John Durkin and wife Diane Margaritis, next door to their 10-year-old bakery. The couple originally called their restaurant Diane’s when it first opened in 1992, serving predominantly French cuisine. Over the years, the menu and theme has morphed into Tuscan in the late 1990’s, and hence the addition of “Trattoria” reflecting the couple’s newfound love of Italy. In 2010, Trattoria Diane’s focus turned to classic Roman-inspired cuisine, and has been awarded the Fred Bollaci Enterprises Golden Palate Certificate of Excellence!

Trattoria Diane is a Roman-style, family-run restaurant. The menu and ambience reflect the casual, inviting and friendly spots owners John and Diane have enjoyed on trips to the Eternal City. The menu offers our take on the traditional Roman menu with its verdure, fritti, antipasta, primi and secondi. Trattoria Diane offers a popular Prix fixe menu 29.95 available Tuesday-Friday 5:30-6 PM and Sunday all night.

Popular vegetable plates for starters include: Roasted Beets with Ricotta Salata, Tomato, Cucumber, Basil, and Red onions, Brussel Sprouts with Lemon and Pecorino, Treviso Radicchio, with Almonds and Balsamic, and Grilled Zucchini with Orange and Mint. All light, fresh, healthy, delicious options. A Tasting of Four “Verdure” or vegetable plates is 22.
