Glenmere Mansion: An Oasis of European Style & Sophistication in New York’s Hudson Valley!

Glenmere, a luxurious Relais & Chateaux property in the heart of the beautiful Hudson Valley in New York’s Orange County.

Glenmere was built in 1911 as the country retreat of industrialist Robert Goelet. He commissioned the leading architects of the day, Carrère and Hastings, to create an Italianate mansion reminiscent of the villas of Tuscany that had enchanted him in his travels. Goelet perched the opulent mansion on a hilltop overlooking Glenmere Lake amid thousands of acres of land that he purchased at the turn of the century. Beatrix Jones Farrand, America’s first major female landscape architect, was called upon to create the incomparable Glenmere Gardens, much of which remains today. Today’s Glenmere is a state-of-the-art, modern, luxurious masterpiece, with flawless service, beautiful and comfortable, elegant public spaces, one of the top spas in the world, a heated outdoor pool during the warmer weather, croquet courts, bocce, tennis, and numerous recreational opportunities nearby, Glenmere is gorgeous, grand, and a perfect escape, just an hour from New York City! In keeping with the romantic, peaceful ambience, children under 18 are not permitted. Adults need their playtime too!

Glenmere offers a wide range of activities, including croquet, a full service, world class spa, and nearby hiking, golf, kayaking, wine tasting, and more!
