The iconic Colony Hotel, a Palm Beach landmark, dates back to 1947. It instantly became known for its fashionable dining, live music, and gorgeous interior design. It welcomed the international elite, including Judy Garland, Lena Horne, John Lennon, Sophia Loren, and Frank Sinatra, and continues to be a fashionable destination for celebrities and the well-heeled international ocean-hopping jet set. The guest roster includes royalty, international tycoons, political figures, and reads like a “Who’s Who of the World.” The hotel’s atmosphere resembles a private club, and is a favorite for Palm Beach residents to hold dinner parties.
Today, the hotel is owned by Andrew and Sarah Wetenhall (since 2016). In 2017, The Colony celebrated her 70th Anniversary, and the owners announced the beginning of a multi-year restoration of the grande dame of Palm Beach, by Mimi McMakin and Celerie Kemble of Kemble Interiors. The Colony Palm Beach was designated a landmark in 2020.
Guests can enjoy a lovely private pool in a tropical setting beneath swaying coconut trees, which gave Palm Beach its name, gourmet food, butler service on the beach across the street, beach cruiser bikes (and maps), complimentary transportation in the house car, fitness, fitness classes, and access to golf, tennis, and Labreque Salon and Spa. The Colony is also a pet friendly hotel. Lunch or dinner at Swifty’s is straight out of a Slim Aaron’s book, it is 21st Century La Dolce Vita, Palm Beach style!
The Colony is conveniently located in the heart of Palm Beach, steps from the town beach as well as famed Worth Avenue, home to some of the best shopping and dining in the World! The Colony Hotel Palm Beach and Swifty’s have been awarded the Fred Bollaci Enterprises Platinum Palate Certificate of Excellence for their exceptional service, amenities, and cuisine. See you in Palm Beach!
